Theory Assignment Research
Age and Gender of people who watch the toy story films
AGE RESEARCH:
http://stickyfingers1.blogspot.co.uk/2010/07/toy-story-3-through-eyes-of-its-target.html
In this blog the author is a mother of a seven year old boy who loves all of the three films.
There is also a paragraph about a Grandma who went to she TS3 and it claims she said "That was amazing, just amazing. Its really not just a kids film is it?"
This is interesting as on first glance you may think of Toy Story to be specifically a kids film, how however there is many adults who would happily sit down to watch and of the Toy Story films, why? because Pixar thought about its cinema release, and who would be going to watch these films. The answer is primarily kids under 12, however it is unlikely they would go alone at that young age so it would also be their parent's attending a screening of Toy Story. Pixar realised this and starting with the first Toy Story, set out to make the films more family friendly.
This means the target audience is for families with children under 12.
