My 60 Second Documentary About The Stuff What Is In This HOUSE from Ryd Cook on Vimeo.
I enjoyed this video because it is interesting for viewers to watch. This is achieved by the action being fast and the camera angles constantly changing into creative shots, for example the main character is doesn't always look straight into the camera to speak directly to the audience (this makes them enticed into the action as it is different to other documentary shorts they might have, and thus this video stands out in their mind). Other techniques he utilizes is to speak to the viewer in a strange way (controlled shouting in one tone), this interests the viewer and distances the video further from regular documentaries which people may consider boring. There are also elements of comedy in the video which makes it engaging to the audience.
Good Points: Entertaining, short an to the point, good camera angles/shots, funny
Bad Points: Perhaps to quick so things may be missed by the viewer
Places Where I Grew Up from Antonin Besner on Vimeo.
This video did not include people or talking, apart from the introduction. After this the director uses shots which include close ups of parts of the places, strange angles to look at places and blurred background/foreground. There is calming background music and the shots keep up with it. Leaving the majority of the video without narration is a powerful tool in this video as it leaves the viewer to form their own interpretation.
Good Points: good camera angles/shots, calming
Bad Points: Maybe too slow for some viewers
