Unit 22.3 Video/Edit Review

Edit Review:
I have completed the video of what locally has affected my life. The video includes a story of me writing an essay on the title of the video, it begins with me thinking of the answer then writing the essay with narration from me, the video then switches between flashbacks and the present day of me writing the essay.
I am happy with some of the angles I used like the wide angle establishing shot at the beginning of the piece which provides the viewer knowledge of the set. I also sets the scene as typically students do their homework alone.  Switching between the notebook and an upper-body shot made the video flow easier and make it similar to a TV show or film which shows the audience all of what is happening. However there is a jumpcut during this which lessens the quality of the edit and the video looks less like a story and more of a montage of clip which was not the effect I was going for, I believe this to be a mistake which should have been corrected but I did not spot it until the video was exported. The clip at 0:22 is corrupt, this occurred after the export and if I had more time I would have reexported it to have the clip work.
The narration audio quality is bad compared to the video footage quality, it is of the right volume but it is fuzzy and not as good as I believe it could be. I used the same microphone for recording, however I spoke very close to the mic during the narration and that could have distorted the audio. I can resolve this by: standing further away from the mic or using a different type of microphone to capture the audio.
I believe it was good how each clip was relevant to was I was saying, this keeps the video on track with what the viewer expects to see and hear.

It was good how I was referring to past events and showing them in video form (flashbacks), this gave the video a story narrative and made the viewer want to watch it to the end to find out what happens.
