I've completed a video called 'What Locally has affected my life?'. It is a video showing me writing an essay of the title. I believe this idea was affective because it gave the documentary a storyline that the audience could remember.
The entire video has a mixture of good points and bad points which I can and will learn from.
Good Points;
The Video is continuous with no long breaks: This helps keep the audience's attention as it gives them something to keep watching/listening to.
Subtle Humour: Does not take away from the documentary element but helps the audience feel engaged.
Bad Points;
Pointing the Camera at a light source: Took light away from the object and quality was compromised.
Bad sound quality: Distracts audience from the video and sometimes things are hard to hear.
On two occasions person in shot broke the forth wall by looking at camera: 'Loses the magic'
If I had the chance to do the video again I would include shots from Ashby High Street (which I lost due to a transferring Error) I would also use better equipment for better camera quality.
